Elena Rose Mcloughlin – 15117418

Placement Year – GlaxoSmithKline

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) is a science led global healthcare company, providing both pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare products to consumers in a variety of different markets. Their pharmaceutical products can be found in most hospitals and chemists throughout the U.K. e.g. Benlysta (to treat systemic lupus erythematosus in adults) and Revlar Ellipta (to treat asthma and COPD). Their consumer healthcare can be found in households across the U.K. e.g. Beechams, Piriteze and Aquafresh. At GSK I experienced working with adobe analytics to assess how different pharmaceutical marketing plans were working when being rolled out in different continents. I also gained experience in global communications when working with the global engineering teams – the main source of communication used when working with these teams was sending mass emails to the relevant contacts in different continents.

Eve Manson –  15068838

I’m Eve a final year student studying Public relations and marketing. Last year I was enrolled at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia, completing my study abroad year. Studying in Australia was an intimidating prospect at first but the challenge stirred a confidence within myself I didn’t know I had and really tested my character. I feel extremely grateful that I got an opportunity to develop key skills like adaptability, communication and cross cultural understanding that further boosts my employability.

Chloe Roberts – 15064959

I’m a third year PR and Marketing student at Manchester Metropolitan University and last year I completed a year abroad in The Netherlands.  I attended HogeSchool Utrecht and studied both International Advertising and International Marketing. The year was extremely beneficial as I gained so many cultural behaviour insights and got to learn key marketing strategies from an international perspective.

I’m Georgia and I’m currently in my fourth year at Manchester metropolitan studying PR and Marketing. Last year I participated in study abroad as part of my course and attended Queensland university of technology in Brisbane, Australia. The year allowed me to open my mind to all kinds of cultures and broadened my knowledge of marketing internationally

Jessica Loizou – 15068048

Placement year:-

During my placement year I worked for a company called RK Wholesale Limited. RKW are owners and distributors of Morphy Richards Housewares, Russell Hobbs, Black and Decker, Tower, Carmen, Akai. Over the past year of working in RKW’s marketing department I had sole responsibility for running the companies brands social media accounts: Tower, Carmen and Akai. This also included planning and carrying out all social media campaigns throughout the year with little guidance. After 5 months managing the PR side of the department which included B2B and B2C PR on a monthly basis including communicating with external contacts e.g., exclusively housewares magazine, the Sentinel newspaper, my job role changed to digital marketing assistant. I therefore began to manage and maintain the company’s ecommerce websites, this included coding and creating HTML web pages and developing and carrying out email marketing campaigns on a weekly basis for multiple brands.
